Interview with Karan Singh Grover
Modeling is tough. Acting is tougher.
And working in a reality show that requires hours and hours of
rigorous practice sessions simply drains you out. But heartthrob
Karan Singh Grover has done it all and is one of the topmost actors
in Tellyland today. Prachi Shailendra chats with the heartthrob
as he describes his journey from his early modeling days to Dill
Mill Gaye to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Tell us something about your childhood, and growing up.
I'm a Delhi-born munda hailing from Ambala, Haryana. But then
I shifted to Al- Khobar, Saudi Arabia where I completed my school
education after which I came to India in 2000 to pursue a Degree
in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management in
Dadar, Mumbai.
How did you enter Tellyland?
I entered the Gladrags Megamodel Hunt Contest in 2004 where I
was awarded the Most Popular Model Award. And then started my
acting career with Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi followed by Kasautii
Zindagi Ki, Solhah Singaar, and CID before I landed with the role
of Dr Armaan in Dill Mill Gaye and then reality shows like Zara
Nachke Dikha and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Your fitness regime…
Oh well, that includes seven hours of cardio every night, thanks
to Jhalak! After that if I'm still alive in the morning, then
probably an hour or two in the gym.
What do you feel about the female attention showering over
you all the time?
What do I say? I consider myself blessed!
Any regrets in life?
Oh no. None at all. God has been really kind to me and I'm very
thankful to him for that.
What's your personal style mantra?
Comfort above all.
Any message you would like to give out to youngsters who want
to follow your footsteps?
Firstly, please vote for me! Haha…Well, always follow your heart
and believe in yourself.
