Bald & Beautiful! Mansi Pinto, a student from Xavier's decided to go bald
for a good cause. It was initially for an anti-HIV Aids campaign done by an NGO. Many girls went bald and the locks of hair so collected were sent to Cancer patients who lose hair during treatment. What started for a cause has now become a style statement for this 19 year-old Xavierite. She loves the bald look and plans to remain like this forever.
Why go bald? It's something that I’ve always wanted to do. I wanted to go bald at least once in my life and then I got to do it for a cause. And now I want to remain like this. There was definite excitement about doing it.
Parent's reaction They were cool actually. My sister had also done it so they were like ok. I hadn't told them. So, when I entered the house, my mom was surprised and my dad gave a look that said, “Where did all the hair go?” but ya, they were quite fine. People's reactions
Aah…extremes! Either they are like 'it looks so nice', 'great look!,' 'she has the guts' or 'how could you do this?!’, ‘you had such nice long hair'.
