IIT-Kanpur
Antaragni'09's theme 'I am the change' was opened from 22nd - 25th October at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. With more than 1,500 participants coming from other colleges, it was a veritable amalgamation of new talents.

The festival encompassed a whole range of events from competitions and workshops, talks and professional shows. The overall cultural championship trophy was won by the host college. However, the trophies in each category were passed onto the the runners up college.

The dance competitions included everything from street dance to classical dance and the championship. IIT-K won in this category too, followed by IIT-Guwahati. In dramatics, the championship was won by IIT-K followed by Sri Venkateshwara college. On the literary front, English and Hindi literary events were both bagged by IIT-K followed by IIT-Delhi and SRMCEM respectively. The top positions in the film and photography section was also taken by IIT-K followed by Lucknow University.

The musical competitions were won by Hindu College, while the Fine Arts there was tie between three colleges -- Allahabad Agricultural Institute, Jesus & Mary College and IIT-K.

India Inspired saw more than 400 students join the panel discussion with Raj Kamal Jha -- the Allahabad editor of Times of India, Sujatha Ramdorai -- professor of mathematics at TIFR, Vinit Joshi -- CBSE chairman and Amrita Das -- career counsellor. The topic was 'The road not taken', which explored the trend where the youth follow the ubiquitous career paths such as engineering, medicine and management.

The finals of the rock band competition Synchronicity saw a face off between 4 bands -- Weapons Shop, Moshpit, Nigambodh and Paradigm Shift. Weapons shop swept away the top position followed by Nigambodh and Moshpit.The competition was followed by acts by Medusa and Jaded Sun.

The fest ended with the performances of Faridkot and KK, which saw an audience of more than 2,000 people. Faridkot, the upcoming band, had sevreal new fans by the end of their gig, while KK's performance set the of whole of IIT-K rocking.
