Though authorities are mourning, cadets (we are not students here you know) are seeing the positive side.... no more burden on us to show that we are “so special”. Anyway, about the survey. It’s really stupid (not just ‘cause we fall from 2 to 5). How can you explain the entry of some colleges whose names you haven’t even heard of? Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad - 6th? No AP College is open for ppl from outside the State.
I believe CMC Vellore got ranked # 1 because India Today wanted to create a sensation by removing AIIMS from the top spot. CMC is a good college but not worthy of No. 1.... Job placements are real bad and you have to serve in rural areas for 2 years! (Also I’ve heard that there is some religious angle to the education. Dunno how true that is though).
JIPMER really deserved its No 3 spot - this college was ignored in earlier versions of the rankings. Manipal at 4th! Oh my god Manipal is MONEYPAL! Anyone and everyone who can cough out money can get in and to pass out you can resort to money again (sounds like Pune’s BVP!) The verdict is: bullshit.
Further proof: Amcha Pune (which is known as the OXFORD of the EAST) isn’t featured in the city-wise rankings and apparently has only 3 colleges - AFMC and 2 Law Colleges.
