How many times have you have found people standing in the middle of the road arguing and fighting?
How many times have you found people blaring horns and throwing swear words towards each other just because of the bad traffic situation?
This is a common occurrence and many of us have seen this happening everyday. We may not understand it but we accept it as something we have to deal with daily.
This phenomenon is road rage. Each one of us, whether as a victim or as a culprit have come across road rage at some point in our lives. Now, a group of people have come up with this idea - Road Pe Raahi Bhai Bhai - to spread the idea of brotherhood among one and all, on the road.
Road Pe Raahi Bhai Bhai is a movement started by Vipin Suri, Chaitanya Chadha and Bharti Chadha to make people aware about road rage. These people interact with people from all spheres whether they are taxi owners, private car owners, cyclists or pedestrians. Recently an event was organized in the Delhi University north campus on Feb 23 to engage students to become a part of this movement and combat road rage.
An active participation and
overwhelming response was recorded from the students of North campus.
All we need is a little change in our attitudes to ensure safety for one and all on the roads and a small sticker which says ‘ROAD PE RAAHI BHAI BHAI’ is all that’s required to show that we are considerate about people and their families when they are traveling on the road.
