It was only a matter of time before Daron Malakian followed his SOAD band mate Serj Tankian's footsteps. On their eponymous debut Scars on Broadway (also feat. SOAD drummer John Dolmayan) sound a lot like the last two SOAD records sans Serj on tracks like 'Kill Each Other/Live Forever' while others such as 'Chemicals' and 'Enemy' are uniquely Daron. Vocally and lyrically Daron impresses on most tracks while John Dolmayan remains solid as a rock. Along with Franky Perez and co, Scars on Broadway sounds like a promising and tight outfit while their CD sounds on par with if not better than Serj's Elect the Dead. Both albums should keep fans amused until the band come out of their hiatus.
