Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPICMACAY) has launched a series of concerts named VIRASAT. The VIRASAT series of programmes will see over 50 events across Mumbai over the next three months and which would include talks by eminent people, workshops, movie screening and classical dance, vocal and instrumental concerts. Some of the institutes that would be participating in SPICMACAY Mumbai Virasat '09 are SNDT Women's College, JJ School of Applied Art, IIT, TIFR, IGIDR, NIFT, St Mary's School, VG Vaze Kelkar College, Lilavatibai Poddar School, DAV, Rachna Sansad amongst others.
The concerts will be seeing presence (some are already over) of stalwarts like Zia Fariduddin Dagar, Baha'uddin Dagar, Arti Ankelkar-Tikekar, Ronu Mazumdar, Dhruba Ghosh, Malavika Sarukkai, Sunayana Hazarilal, Kanak Rele and many more.
